One on one with I-Ling Chiu
In Profica’s ongoing celebration of Women's Month where we’re showcasing some of our fantastic fearless females, we chat to I-Ling Chiu, one of our talented project managers who also happens to speak Mandarin, a valuable skill that she utilises in her work at Profica.
Tell us a bit more about what YOU bring to the Profica team?
Profica is a place where we strive to deliver our best every day, and that is my contribution to the Profica team. We are all faced with challenges on daily basis but we always celebrate achievements and empower each other to push the boundaries. Coming from an architectural background and working within various industries, I also bring an entrepreneurial spirit to the team and am willing to assist my colleagues in different project elements.
In addition, I’m proud to bring cultural diversification to the team. I have a passion for sharing my knowledge and understanding of the Asian culture. It is extremely encouraging when everyone, in turn, engages and shares their own experiences. I believe that the openness of each individual builds the Profica family culture, where we lean towards each other for support and unite to achieve excellence within the industry.
What is your wish for women in this industry?
My dream for women is to unapologetically embrace our femininity within this industry. Women bring diversification that challenges the norm. We should view ourselves as unique, resilient individuals who are just as capable as our male counterparts of delivering innovative solutions. We should celebrate one another’s achievements, both big and small, in order to build our confidence to succeed.
How does Profica elevate the work and might of great women within the organisation?
Profica is an organisation that truly celebrates and supports individuality. Profica focuses on achieving business objectives, but each individual’s objectives are viewed just as importantly in order to grow and support the business. Profica treats us all as equals without the need to emphasize gender differences. This allows women to bring our best and authentic version of ourselves to the workplace.
