Profica prepared for H&M opening at Gateway Shopping Centre
Profica’s teams have been known to meet challenges head on. Installing global retail giant H&M at the popular Gateway Shopping Centre in Durban was one such challenge. Profica, who are project managing the new upgrade at Gateway managed the H&M installation as well as undertaking the tenant coordination. Peter Ferraz, Durban head of Profica, says that the build was highly complex due to the sheer volume of the space required by H&M. “We had to combine a number of boxes (retail spaces) which necessitated the vacation of tenants into temporary spaces.”
Due to the size, the space was delivered in a staged handover of 5 different areas between September and November. Ferraz says that due to the nature of the project which required intensive on site work, there were considerable complexities. This made it critical to ensure a successful interface at all times between the project team and H&M. He says, “Profica’s teams worked intensively to ensure that the H&M was delivered a site that met their requirements. The end result is an impressive space and a highly satisfied client.” The H&M Gateway store grand opening takes place on 23 November.” Well done to Profica’s team and the entire consulting and contracting team on this successful delivery.
